What this site is
Unguja.com is an independent travel guide to Unguja, the island most people simply call Zanzibar. We cover Stone Town, the beaches, the reefs, the forest and the spice farms, and we recommend the tours, tickets and hotels we think are worth booking.
We are not a tour operator and we do not sell anything ourselves. Every booking on this site goes through a third party — GetYourGuide for tours and tickets, Trip.com for hotels — and you pay them, at their price, under their terms.
How we choose what to recommend
Every tour listed here was verified against its live listing: that it exists, that it runs, and that its rating and review count are what we say they are. We do not list products with no review history unless there is a clear reason to, and we say so when we do.
We rank by how distinctive an experience is, what the reviews actually say, what it costs and how reliably it delivers — not by commission. Where a cheaper or free alternative exists, we say so, even when it earns us nothing.
Prices on this site are indicative starting points and change constantly. Always check the live price before you book.
How we make money
Through affiliate commission. If you book a tour through one of our GetYourGuide links, or a hotel through one of our Trip.com links, we may earn a small commission from that company. It costs you nothing — the price you pay is exactly the same as going direct.

Corrections and contact
Zanzibar changes. Ferries reschedule, restaurants close, prices move and park fees go up. If something here is wrong or out of date, please tell us — corrections from travellers who have just been there are the most valuable thing we get.
