The short version
Unguja.com is a static website. We do not ask you to register, we do not run a newsletter, we do not have a login, and we do not collect or store personal information about you ourselves.
We do embed content and links from third parties — GetYourGuide and Trip.com — and those companies set their own cookies and collect their own data when you interact with them. This page explains what that means.
What we store on your device
One thing: if you choose a language from the switcher in the header, we save that choice in your browser’s local storage under the key preferredLang so the homepage opens in your language next time.
That value never leaves your browser. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Third-party services
GetYourGuide. Tour and ticket links and the availability widgets on this site are provided by GetYourGuide. Loading a widget or following an affiliate link lets GetYourGuide set cookies that record that you arrived from us, so any booking is credited to our partner account. Their handling of that data is governed by the GetYourGuide privacy policy.
Trip.com. Hotel links point to Trip.com, which likewise sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy once you land there.
Google Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from Google’s font servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising tracker of our own.
Bookings and payments
We never see, handle or store your payment details, passport information or booking data. Every booking happens entirely on GetYourGuide’s or Trip.com’s own site, under their terms, and your contract is with them.
To exercise a data right in relation to a booking — access, correction, deletion — contact whichever company you booked with directly.
